Transneft Urals Reduces Electricity Consumption by 9.25 Mln kWt/h in 2019

Transneft Urals has evaluated its work in the field of improving energy efficiency in 2019. 29 types of measures aimed at reducing electricity and thermal energy consumption, as well as consumption of boiler&furnace and motor fuels, were taken. All the target indicators set for 2019 were met.

In particular, Transneft Urals reduced electricity consumption by 9.25 mln kWt/h in 2019. The savings were achieved by performing a set of energy efficiency measures. Maintenance of optimum oil and petroleum products process pumping modes, as well as timely cleaning of pipelines’ and mud trap filters’ inner surfaces, were ensured. 6 electric motors were replaced at two LODS and OPS, which increased the efficiency of power equipment. A significant contribution to the reduction of energy costs was made by the installation of replaceable rotors at 28 pump units (at 12 OPS and LODS). In the pump house of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline, variable frequency drives were installed at the Yurgamysh LODS.

The Company continues to successfully upgrade boiler houses and heat supply systems at its operating facilities. At the Travniki LODS of the Chelyabinsk Oil Pipeline Directorate (OPD), a modular boiler house was installed, 1.3 km of heating networks were replaced, 5 automated individual heating units were installed. At the Cherkasy-PP petroleum products pumping station (PPPS) of the Cherkassy OPD, an overhaul of the heating network was carried out, during which 1.1 km of heating networks were replaced. All this resulted in savings of almost 87 tonnes of boiler&furnace fuel (in tonnes of oil equivalent) last year. The measures to reduce thermal energy consumption allowed Transneft Urals to save 107.08 Gcal per year.

Monitoring and optimisation of transportation routes, as well as re-equipping of the Company’s fleet, allowed Transneft Urals to save 63.44 tonnes of motor fuel (in tonnes of oil equivalent).
