Transneft Urals Commissions New Testing Laboratory at Khokhly LODS

A new testing laboratory has been commissioned at the Khokhly line operation dispatcher station of the Kurgan Oil Pipeline Directorate (OPD) of Transneft Urals.

The construction was needed due to the expansion of the list of controlled petroleum products quality indicators, as well as the increased number of testing equipment pieces.

The new testing laboratory is a one-floor brick building with an area of 348 m2. The building is connected to heating systems, household and fire water supply, industrial and utility drainage, as well as equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation systems. To maintain microclimate in the rooms, an air conditioning system was installed. When landscaping the surrounding area, pedestrian walkways and a special site for vehicles were designed.

In accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents, the building provides the room for connecting a portable mobile laboratory, rooms for acceptance tests, chromatographic analysis and petroleum products periodic testing. Separate storage facilities for materials, standard samples of petroleum products and reagents, flammable liquids and retained samples were also outfitted.

The laboratory was provided with modern equipment that allows to perform all types of tests of diesel fuels of the K5 ecological class in accordance with the field of assessment of the state of measurements in accordance with the requirements of the Customs Union, as well as for test results monitoring.

The testing laboratory was constructed in accordance with Transneft Urals’ technical upgrading and revamping programme for 2019. The Khokhly LODS is the key station for reception and transshipment of petroleum products produced by the Gazpromneft Omsk Refinery and the Antipinsky Refinery, and a customs  point for monitoring movement of petroleum products across the state border of the Russian Federation.
