Arlan Oil Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Urals increased reliability of power supply to Chernushka oil pump station (OPS) located in Perm Territory.

The source of power supply to the said OPS is Sludka substation (PS (Substation)). Two power transformers with voltage of 110 kilovolt and aggregate capacity of 20 MW, which were installed at the substation, were produced in 1970 and, despite their operational condition, were obsolete both physically and technologically.

During technical upgrading new transformers manufactured in Russia were installed at the substation. The equipment includes a monitoring system. Information from sensors on the transformers is recorded, processed and transferred to the automated workstation of a power engineer of OPS, which makes it possible to control the parameters of operation of the transformers in a prompt manner, on a real-time basis, and to diagnose and assess their condition without taking out of operation.

The technical upgrading consisting in replacement of the transformers at Sludka PS allowed to increase reliability of power supply to Chernushka OPS and to reduce operational costs.

The work was performed to the extent of the Technical Upgrading and Revamping Program of Transneft Urals.
